Our Briefing Note: The impact of the hostile environment towards immigration on social care practice and migrant family members.

We have now published a briefing note, outlining recommendations for commissioners, organisational management and practitioners. The issues identified here were common to practitioners and members of migrant families in both Hull and Sheffield.

In early 2022, we worked with the Happy Group, at Chilypep, to explore what 'everyday bordering' means for young members of migrant families. The young people chose to depict their expereinces using photography and the images they produced have since been exhibted at The City of Sanctuary Sheffield, and the end of project Celebration Event.

Building on the findings from the 'Everyday Bordering in the UK' project, we coproduced an online resource for practitioners working with members of migrant communities.
