Celebrating the project!!

22/01/2023

On 23rd November, over 40 stakeholders came together to celebrate the culmination of almost three years of work on the 'Everyday Bordering in the UK' project. A range of professional occupations, commissioning bodies, organisations and academics were represented, and they heard about our work with collaborating organisations in Hull and Sheffield and our key project findings.

During the event, the research team, including collaborators and advisory board members, spoke about the significance of the study for communities, policy and practice and academics. Individuals that contributed to the project also shared their positive experiences of being involved, whilst also reflecting on what might have been done differently, in a round table discussion and Q&A.

Members of migrant families that we worked with chose not to attend the event so that they could remain anonymous and, instead, we were able to exhibit photographs and videos produced by members of migrant families in creative workshops. These depict what 'everyday bordering' meant to those involved, in ways that were chosen by them.Â
